John Quatermass – Patron of South Burnett CTC

CTC was very proud to have Mr John Quatermass as our Patron. It is with great sadness that we advise John passed away in early March 2011 after a short illness. Our CEO on behalf of the Board and staff pass on our sincere condolences to the Quatermass family.

John is a founding member of CTC and was our Chairperson from February 1987 to 1992 and Deputy Chairperson from 1992 until 2006. John also owned and operated a very successful electrical business in Kingaroy for over 40 years and has a lifetime of community service commitment including Chairing roles on the Lions Rodeo Committee, Kingaroy Hospital Board, the District Development Board, the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal and the Scouts. In recognition of his services to the broader South Burnett community and to CTC, John was elected to be our organisation’s Patron in 2007.

  • South Burnett Hospital Board 1970-91, Chairman 90-91 Deputy Chairman 1972-90
  • Kingaroy District Development Board member 1977 to 1992, Chairman from 1979 to 1987
  • Wide Bay Regional Health Authority 1991-92
  • Bunya District Scouting Association 1970-90   Chairman 1984-90
  • Kingaroy Lions Club Member 1967-current, President 1971-72
  • Chairman Lions Rodeo Committee 1970 to 91
  • Chairman Red Shield Advisory Committee 1981-95
  • Jaycees Senator (being the 1st awarded by the Kingaroy Jacees)
  • Kingaroy Shire Council - Citizen of the Year 1987
