The Supported Accommodation and Assistance Program (or "SAAP") is a program that focuses on supporting, assisting and advocating for young people aged 16 to 21 years of age who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The program provides "at risk" youths with information and assistance so they can make informed decisions, understand processes and empower themselves.
Supporting those in need is achieved via several different avenues including the use of strength-based techniques employed by CTC Youth Services staff. This involves assisting a young person through helping to identify their own personal strengths and then using them as building blocks for a positive outcome.
The SAAP program also has crisis accommodation in the form of a Youth Hostel for homeless young people aged 16 to 21.
Program Funding: This program is funded by Queensland Department of Communities and the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
