CTC Youth Services: Youth Support Coordinators (YSCs)

The Youth Support Coordinator Initiative program (YSC) is an early intervention program funded by the Department of Communities.

The role of the Youth Support Coordinators is to establish collaborative relationships between schools and community services to enable better responses to the needs of young people experiencing personal or family difficulties.
Our Youth Support Coordinators work closely, and in partnership with education and training providers and other community support agencies to ensure that the total welfare and social support needs of individual young people and their families are being addressed. This includes:

• Assisting young people at risk of not completing their Senior Phase of Learning;
• Assisting young people and their families to resolve issues contributing to such risks;
• Assisting young people to develop social and personal skills for successful community living;
• Increasing the capacity of families, communities, schools and training providers to support young people to maintain their connectedness to education and training.

Program funding:   This program is funded by the Department of Communities.
